Conan Portrait

LEAD PASTOR

Connan Kublik

Connan and his wife Brenda moved with two of their four kids back to his hometown of Calgary to become Lead Pastor of New City Church Calgary in September 2023. Prior to that he planted New City Church Hamilton and served as Lead Pastor there for 17 years. Connan is passionate about equipping local church congregations to take the whole gospel to their whole city. He is also passionate about seeing gospel-centred churches planted and to that end is Executive Director of The Grace Network Canada and a certified church planting coach with Church Multiplication Ministries. Connan looks forward to his resurrection body but in the meantime attempts to counter “the fall” with weights, running, and outdoor pursuits (including skiing again - hallelujah!). He enjoys reading a book accompanied by a good Americano, date nights with his wife, and spending time with his church family. Connan and Brenda, have four children: Kira and son-in-law Judah, Brysan, Evan, and Rylan.

Don Portrait

RULING ELDER

Don Kitchener

Don Kitchener has been a ruling elder in New City Church from its inception in October 2010. Don and his wife Ina have lived in Calgary since 1999 and have been a part of the church that became New City Church. Ina and Don have a long-standing relationship with churches in the PCA and have many new and old friends as a result. They are both retired now and enjoying ministry in the church and getting to know the many new folks that are finding our church home. Don and Ina like to help our church members explore their ministry potential. There is much work to be done for the kingdom.

Key Ministries

Life Groups

Life Groups are the backbone of New City Church! They grow us into a caring community that centres around the prayer priorities of the kingdom of God as well as the study of scripture that leads towards mature discipleship that lives out the implications of the gospel.

Women’s Ministry

Under the oversight of the Session, women at New City Church lead and participate in activities relating to discipleship, fellowship, mercy and hospitality.

Men’s Ministry

The Men’s Ministry of NCC aims to foster friendships and to help men of all ages understand and grow in their relationship with Christ and with others.  We host monthly events focused on building those relationships. We strive to become men who live out our faith, bringing Christ into our spheres of influence.

Youth

At NCC, we strive to help our youth be firmly rooted in the truth of God’s word and to have a solid foundation in Christ. We foster a safe environment for exploring their questions about faith. In studies and activities, we encourage our youth to grow in knowledge, application, and appreciation of God’s word in fellowship with one another.

Nursery

NCC offers nursery care for children ages 0-4 during the Sunday worship service. Our nursery provides a caring environment for young ones to explore and play. We recognize that God creates every child uniquely and our goal is to ensure that our young ones feel loved and secure in the family of God.

Children

Sunday school is offered at NCC for children Pre-K-Gr.6 after the worship service. Our classes provide a safe environment to learn about Jesus through God’s word at a level they can understand and relate to. Our goal is to help them grow in their faith and their desire to know, love and serve God.

Young Adults

Our young adults group gathers students and young professionals as we seek to grow closer to Jesus and each other. We love to share meals, spend time in prayer and Bible study, and use our gifts to serve.
