The Audacity of Living Hope
Topic: Life in Exile: Standing Firm in the Grace of God Passage: 1 Peter 1:3–1:9
This week we continued our Series entitled "Life in Exile: Standing Firm in the Grace of God". There is perhaps only one greater fear than anticipating or going through suffering. That is hopeless suffering. But can there be a hope that not only enables us to endure adversity but also experience unmitigated joy going through it? Peter, addressing a church on the margins while suffering ridicule, social ostracism and mockery, is going to show us that there is a hope that in the eyes of this world can only be called audacious. We heard how a "living hope" is not only what you most need when you are suffering but that it can be available no matter who you are or what you are going through.
